Checking Criminal History in Ironwood

This model affects Ironwood criminal records at the first stage. A Public Safety officer’s incident report remains a city record even when the person is booked at the county jail. The department also publishes PBT and drug-testing times: weekdays at 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., with weekend times at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Those testing services are not criminal-history searches.

Gogebic County publishes no searchable roster or daily booking log, so the official current-custody route is a call to the jail, followed by VINE notification or a county FOIA request when needed.
A booking may record intake time, arresting agency, identity data, initial charges, and bond or hold status. Those common fields were not confirmed through a public Gogebic profile and should not be treated as a guaranteed online inventory. The prosecutor can amend or reject charges, and the courts determine guilt. The District Court is at 200 N. Moore Street and can be reached at 906-663-4611. Circuit Court uses the same courthouse and can be reached at 906-663-4211. If a search displays “REVIEW,” Gogebic says that is an automated internal schedule term, not an in-person hearing by itself.

Recent city activity is most likely to appear first at Public Safety, the jail, or D98. A completed felony outcome belongs in the C32 file. ICHAT is a later, concise statewide product with exclusions, not a certified copy of either local file. Ironwood Record Request Timing
Michigan’s five-business-day FOIA response period is not a promise that Ironwood will produce the file in five days. The city may grant the request, deny it, grant it in part, identify a record already online, or issue the one-time ten-business-day extension. The request form lets a requester consent to more time beyond the statutory extension. It also contains choices about online copies, overtime, and labor for locating, copying, or redacting records.
Fees may include permitted labor and duplication categories under an itemized calculation. The form also addresses indigency and qualified-nonprofit discounts. Ironwood need not create a new digital format it does not keep. A focused request should name the department, date range, incident or case number if known, location, desired record, and preferred delivery method. Active investigations and protected private, juvenile, or victim data may be withheld or redacted.
Public Access Rules in Ironwood
City executive records follow Michigan FOIA, while court records follow a different rule. FOIA applies to Ironwood and other local public bodies, subject to exemptions.
